Data Deletion & Subject Rights

Automatic deletion

All messages and media on TopixBox are automatically deleted after 7 days (TTL enforced by ScyllaDB). No action required.

Immediate deletion (Right to erasure — GDPR Art. 17 / CCPA)

You have two channels to request immediate deletion:

Option 1 — Use the form below

This opens your email client with the deletion request already written. You only need to click Send. Until our automated deletion flow ships, this is the fastest way to reach us.

Option 2 — Send us an email directly

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".

Include your UUID (visible in your browser's localStorage under the key topixbox_uuid). We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and complete the deletion within one calendar month.

Other data subject rights (GDPR Art. 15–22)

Under the GDPR you also have the right to:

  • Access — receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Restriction — limit how we process your data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) at garanteprivacy.it

Clear locally

To remove your identity from this device immediately, clear your browser's localStorage. This generates a fresh anonymous UUID on your next visit. Note: this does not delete data already on our servers — for that, submit a deletion request as above.
